I love the drier end of the season as well. It makes it easier to do nest clean out at the end.

Hi there,
My colony went from 54 pair to 60 pair in 2020 season. Super fledge rate of 92% with 285 babies that successfully took first flight. The dry summer made for zero mites at my colony. I hope everyone had as good of a year. Now it is preparation time for 2021.

The 2020 season
Early arrivals in Spring and late migration in September in Iowa. It was a great year for the martin population as a whole across the US. I increased my colony by 5 more nests than last year. I also had a whopping 285 fledge successfully. No mite and only 2 adult deaths due to age, I'm guessing. Hop...
