Looking for a company that will sell crushed egg shells
Has anyone heard of a company or individual in which landlords can buy crushed egg shells for the martins by the pound ? I found the jolly egg farm website and requested info about shipping egg shells to Iowa, but I haven't heard back from them. I collect my own egg shells and prepare them for the m...

Re: Martins to arrive near December 31st or Jan 1st,South Florida
I have my frozen crickets in the freezer and ready to scramble eggs if the weather dictates an early arrival here in Iowa. I wish I could convince more landlords that supplement feeding can be the difference in literally thousands of saved martins across the country during the early arrivers. we are...

Nice pic. You have a great set up. The martins should be reaching the southern tip of Florida and Texas around December 31st/January 1st. I think we all have the purple martin fever.

Enclosed modified feeding platform tray for martins
Hi neighbors up north, Two years ago I made a highly modified Bob Buska Oyster Bar feeding tray. If you go to: m you will see Bob's feeding tray. I modified this feeding tray by making a much larger floor, 3X3 feet and adding plexiglass walls around the sides. I also added 6 ultimate tunnels around ...

Re: Martins move north is early this year. Iowa ahead schedule.
I have had a few Iowa members contact me stating that their martin numbers seem to be lower this time of year than last season.
but, the weather was very good for a big colony growth last year. Hopefully the sy youngsters will prove us wrong and we will have a rebound in the population.

Re: Martins move north is early this year. Iowa ahead schedu
Thanks Jerome and Caroline for the responses. I get extremely busy this time of year and fail to get back to the forum in a timely manner. Martins are looking healthy on their arrival in Iowa and I expect that if the weather holds in a warm pattern that they will be do great as they arrive in the Da...
