It’s almost time

Post by Caroline »

According to my Countdown App, and based on the average return date of my Purple Martins, we have ...

1 month, 3 weeks, 6 days, 15 hours, 43 minutes,and 56 seconds before the Purple Martins return.

Let’s get ready to rumble!

For my first tweak, I have three tunnel entries to fit into gourds.

Wake up, winter hibernation is almost over. Please share your plans or tasks for the early season.

WoW! Nice to see your numbers in a row, for the countdown.
Excitements in the air! Will mom nature be in line?
Noticed your post for 2017 indicated April 29, that is early, considering
our springs near T.R.F.!
Also noticed Allen H reported Scout on April 8 2017. ( hand feeding?)

We experienced nesting SY- PM for 1st time ever at our site, 2017.
Founding male arrived June 11, at 0630 hours, followed by 2 - SY-F :)

Are your tunnels bolt-on or are u doing retro fit?

Hi Caroline,
I now the feel, especially when we get a day or two near 50 degrees. I get the itch this time of year to hear the unmistakable songs and sounds of the martin. I like to watch them glide effortlessly while searching out the bugs. A good cup of coffee in the morning on the porch watching my martins is as close to heaven as I can get right now. It is an exciting time and I wish you the best martin season ever.
Nest checks, supplement feeding and good landlord practices make for a healthy colony.

Have you seen P.M. Scouts in larimor?

Been watching for a report from Mr Perry also.
