2019 season

Post by SYmywa »

Hi Folks
So howd the season go?
Did the pair numbers remain steady?
How bout clutch to fledge ratio?
Did predators stay at bay?

We realized a nice increase in pairs, from 5 in 2018 to 13 in 2019.
They fledged 47, up from 22, out of six individual Systems.
No predator issues noticed! Returned 1 pre-fledge to a cuby, fledged successfully!

Anyone bringing down systems for cleaning, Mabe New coat of paint?
We're replacing an old Heath converted, do to maintenance issues, with
some fresh Bungalows.
Rack for cable system is bout ready, first Bungalow of 4 is awaiting paint.
Update; As of Oct 1st, now have 4 Bungalows awaiting paint, started
nest trays. ;)

Oct 27th;
We now have rack installed over post, cable routed n winch mounted.
Post is set into ground stake & Bungalows /w crescent entry n nest trays, are mounted n raised.
Will leave system up temporarily, To set rotation n check reaction to wind.
Come on 2020!

Hi Benford
Welcome to the PMOD Forum!
We're just 3 yrs. In, trying to make adjustments, to match what the PM want.
Did you have Purple Martin's in 2019?

Hi Benford,
Sorry I'm late on the welcoming train. Nonetheless, we are glad to see you here. I wish you the best in 2020.

Nest checks, supplement feeding and good landlord practices make for a healthy colony.
