I don't care what my dependable veterinarian says, the dogs need to start their flea and tick medication earlier than June. We always dose our boys beginning April 15.

Wes takes them out in the open fields, tree rows, empty fields, etc. several times a week, year round. He came in from a field out by Orr yesterday. I shook out his jacket...and there was a nasty ole tick on the sleeve. We checked the dogs, they were fine, and he was bug-free, too. Always a good thing!

So for those of you wandering around checking on the birds, be careful. The ticks are looking for us.

Ticks were out on April 22nd, in Dawson, ND. We camped out that weekend and there were a few...ugh!
